How Does Hilton, the Best Place to Work For in 2025, Decide Which Employee Benefits to Offer?
In 2025, Hilton, amultinational hospitality company based in the U.S., was ranked number one on
Fortune's 100 Best Companies to Work For®. Specfically, 96% of Hilton employees said the company was the best place to work for, and 95% of Hilton employees believed they had “special and unique benefits.” That’s impressive!
Let’s take a look at how Hilton’s Human Resources Management Department figured out the optimal combination of employees’ benefits, which has no formula set in stone. The way Hilton’s HR Department finds the right benefits for its employees is by collecting data through different methods as follows.
· Hilton collects data via surveys, which is the most efficient method to gather information from a large group of people. Every year, the company surveys its employees globally regarding their needs for employee benefits. The survey comprises both closed-ended and open-ended questions to obtain a comprehensive picture of employees’ needs. The open-ended questions are designed to collect
in-depth explanations or data that the company might not have considered.
· When a new program is rolled out or a change to an existing program is added, not only is feedback from employees regarding the changes collected, but its utilization is also measured. If certain benefits have a low utilization rate, they might be discontinued.
· The company also collects data via the focus group method, or face-to-face discussions with employees in small groups, typically fewer than 10 people, regarding fringe benefits.
· Hilton employees formed committees to communicate their expectations regarding their
perks directly to top management.
· Representatives from the HR Department conduct meetings with recruiters to find out what types of benefits job candidates are looking for and have not been offered by Hilton.
· Hilton constantly benchmarks its benefits package within the hospitality industry.
Evidently, Hilton’s HR Department really shows conscientiousness when it comes to finding the right benefits for its employees. No wonder almost all its employees are satisfied with their benefits and think Hilton is the best company to work for.
